In Loving Memory

Henny Penny and Delilah.

Henny Penny and Delilah.

Tribute to Sir Pilot Pilot. God rest your beautiful soul. The world is a better place because you were here. You have touched everyone you have ever met. Handsome beyond compare. Stunning, graceful mover. Regal. Intelligent. Loving. Caring. THE best teacher I have ever encountered. Warhorse. Accepting. Kind. Great listener. Inspiration. You have taught me about healing, compassion, dignity, patience, hopefulness, and to never give up. Never, ever give up no matter what comes along. Respect. Value. Light. Love. Forgiveness. Simple pleasures. Determination. That it's OK to come in last because you still get there. To go with the flow. Unshakable courage. Strength. Trust. To not take one thing for granted no matter how small. You have shown me what I'd like to become. Once a racehorse, then a lesson horse, then left in a field to starve to death--you came to us. You came to us as the skinniest horse I've ever seen in real life. You had given up. So, so sick for so long. We slowly nursed you back. Back to your true self. You chose to spend your last years of life with us. I am so glad you found us, Sir. It has been an honor and a privilege to have you in our lives. Heaven has welcomed you with open arms saying, "Well done, Sir. Well done!" Someday, we will have that ride, my friend. We will ride. With deepest love, admiration, gratitude, and respect--enjoy your well-deserved reward, Sir Pilot. Enjoy. Until we meet again...Love, Mom and Dad.
